Driver's Ed Classroom Training ---------- $179
This class is required by the state for drivers under the age of 19 and is certified by the VA Department of Education. This class is for the beginner driver and for those that have failed their driving test more than three times. If you are a Virginia resident, 19 years of age or older and you have never held a license issued by any state, U.S. territory or foreign country, you must hold a Virginia learner's permit for at least 30 days or show completion of a state-approved driver education program. Instruction includes alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, motorcycle awareness, organ donation awareness and more. Attendance is mandatory and upon passing the in-class test, you will receive a Driver's Ed Completion card. This course provides the classroom training only and does not include behind-the-wheel instruction.

The Kohl's Cares® Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards young volunteers (ages 6-18) who help make their communities a better place to live.

Eligibility
To be eligible, the student must meet the following criteria as of March 15, 2011.

Palm Beach Atlantic launches new program for Juniors

The Early Junior Acceptance Program is for juniors with an SAT score of 1270 or higher (without writing) or an ACT score of at least a 28 and a GPA of at least a 3.5. Students who qualify can apply for admission to PBA in their junior year to receive an additional $3,000 in merit scholarship, books paid for their first semester, priority housing and registration, a parking garage decal for their first semester, priority honors review, and an iPad*!

Application will launch online on November 15th and are due no later than February 28th, 2011. Students will be notified of a decision in April of their junior year and would matriculate in the fall semester of 2012 after their high school graduation. For qualified students, the incentives of this program are numerous!

Intermarkets, a Virginia-based independent advertising sales management firm for online publishers, created the Intermarkets-Lucido scholarship for Virginia high school students who are interested in understanding and promoting the importance of non-biased journalism in the U.S. media.

Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP)

It is time to start thinking about summer 2011! Students that are interested in Math and Science should apply for a SEAP 2011 internship. The SEAP provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of the Navy (DoN) laboratory for eight weeks during the summer.

The goals of the SEAP are to encourage participating students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further their education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN. SEAP provides competitive research internships to hundreds of high school students each year.
